Just for the record, the heat can get to even the most calculated of minds.

Let it be stated that Rhys loves Ryan forever and ever. But certain needs are not being met, leaving her frustrated and asking for too much than the conservative and almost-rock star, Ryan, is willing to give. Uncooperative (or cooperative, depending on your point of view) weather provides her an opportunity to ask not what she can do for her friends, but what a friend can do for her.

Isaiah likes to say that the best thing about Rhys is that he can stand in her breathing space and feel nothing. Something of a breather when dancing with Lia short circuits his entire operating system. But all his beliefs are challenged when Rhys chances upon him in a steamy practice room in the middle of a heat wave.

My Review:

First off, I LOVE THE COVER!

Okay, moving on.

I envy the author here really. The book has this sweet melancholy aura I've been aiming for in my novels, but I think still yet to succeed. Six De Los Reyes has a very nice style of writing (now I’m regretting why I didn’t add interview when I signed up for this book tour. Tsk!) Anyway, I was confused as hell about what's going on when the scene opened up. And I was majorly puzzled by all the characters, however, after I finally connected the dots, I found myself in love with Nico few pages after he’s introduced! ( kyaa! >v< *blush*) scratch that—I mean, I found myself enjoying the story. (Ehem)

Somewhere halfway down the story, when things started to get deep and complicated, I actually felt Ryan to be an unnecessary character, I feel that even without him being constantly mentioned, the story would be the same good (if not better) because there were already a lot of characters involve and truthfully I rather "see" more scene of the told rivalry between Lia and Rhys. Or so I first thought, but after reading the complete story (I still wanted the rivalry to be “shown”) but I change my mind about Ryan. Ryan an was  important piece, and the story would never be the same without him.

And I completely agree with one of the line in the story.

“Secrets have a way of being revealed in the most inconvenient way possible.”

Wow, so true!

I would have given this story a five star but I give it a minus one because somewhere near the end, Rhys was being narrated as "Cerise," I understand that it's her name too, but changing her name in the narration hindered me to appreciate the unfolding scene. It's fine if Ryan vocally called her that, but a short time later it was back to "Rhys" while she was still with Ryan, so what was the point in narrating her in her other name? Another reason for the minus star is because until in the end, like Nico, I never really truly understand why Rhys is so afraid of her feelings for the one she loves or the cause of her loneliness. 

But *sigh* even if this story has a very vague ending, which didn't give me sad nor happy ending, but nearly satisfying as it is.
