Exploring the dark side [My #Heisclub experience]

I hate writing sad scenes, but it’s also a part of life. On November 2015, I finished writing a short story for an online class called #HeistClub. The members were told to write “Case number 1” short stories. I’m not sure how to explain this as good as the class mentor, but basically, the authors are requested to write something that could be a beginning of the story. That’s fine for me, but when the sponsors required us to sprinkle some foreign sentence in the story, I was very close to back off. However, my stubborn personality prevailed because by then I already submitted the first activity. It was such a waste planning for the story and not go through with it.

I also had NaNoWrimo project at the time, and November was the busiest time of year for my other job. I failed to “win” NaNoWrimo, but I finished my #HeistClub story, have it edited and submitted it on time. Yay!

My story is titled The Flame Squad: Sly Prince. The story is included in What We Hide bundle and now available as standalone at  Kindle | ​Smashwords, Barnes and Noble, iTunes, Kobo and Scribd.

The Flame Squad: Sly Prince has an open-ending but no cliffhanger. It told a story of a street boy who got lucky to be involved with a wealthy family in Cebu and scheme his way up.

I’m planning to write a follow-up story for this one, but I’m still unsure when I’ll get the time because I want to focus on my other projects for now.
