First although this book is one of my super favorite now, I don't like the cover. I did not dare touch it for a long time because I was convinced I won't like it. I thought this was a horror book. I know it's my fault for judging it from its cover but a lot of reader does it. However, this is far from scary, unless the mere thought of death and afterlife scares you. What's funny about it is that, this is so far my most favorite book from Yeyet. And first amazing read in 2020.
The story of a girl living her life outside the reality but imprison in her real life and a guy who can plays death god is fascinating and gripping. The story isn't long, but the pacing isn't too quick. I felt tears at the corner of my eyes a couple of times, especially at the ending of the book when Liv spoke to that boy's parents, gosh, so touching.
Let me just end this review by saying that if you're like me. Please don't push this book off your TBR shelf because of its cover. This melancholic story is a paranormal rather than horror. So do give it a try.
